What does a BIG Managing Partner do?
As a Managing Partner, you're the owner-operator of your BIG branch. You lead your team, grow your book of business, and build something that's genuinely yours - with the infrastructure of a national brokerage working behind you every step of the way.
Here's what that looks like:

  • Build your branch: Recruit, onboard, and lead a team of brokers in your market, setting the culture and pace for your operation.
  • Drive new business: Develop and execute strategies to grow your client base through referral networks, community relationships, digital outreach, and your team's sales activity.
  • Leverage exclusive market access: Offer your clients more options with access to 40+ insurance providers across personal, commercial, life, and travel lines.
  • Use best-in-class tools: Operate with BIG's proprietary AI-driven underwriting and analytics platform - purpose-built to make quoting faster, smarter, and more competitive.

You're an experienced insurance professional with an entrepreneurial mindset - someone who has excelled as a producer or leader and is ready to take full ownership of your career. You'll fit right in if you:

  • Know the insurance market inside and out and can navigate carrier relationships, underwriting guidelines, and compliance standards with ease.
  • Understand what it takes to run a business - from managing a pipeline to tracking performance and making decisions that drive growth.
  • Communicate clearly and compellingly with clients, insurers, and your team across every channel.
  • Thrive with independence while knowing when to lean into the support and resources available to you.
  • Take pride in representing a brand with integrity, professionalism, and genuine care in every interaction.

Qualifications:

  • Active RIBO license (Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario) in good standing or willing to convert your OTL.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in insurance sales
  • Demonstrated ability to generate new business and build lasting client relationships

Preferred:

  • CAIB, CIP, or CRM designation an asset
  • LLQP License in good standing an asset
  • Experience managing or mentoring a team of brokers an asset
  • Background in both personal and commercial lines an asset
  • Familiarity with Broker Management Systems and comparative rating tools an asset
