The Broker Partnership Manager plays a pivotal role in attracting, assessing, and onboarding Sales Brokers to support the staffing needs of BIG’s branch network. This role builds and manages a robust talent pipeline by actively sourcing candidates, supporting branch leadership in their hiring efforts, and collaborating with internal teams to enhance recruitment strategies and outcomes.
In addition to its primary focus on Sales Broker recruitment, the role also supports the continued growth of BIG’s franchise network through the identification and onboarding of new Managing Partners and Broker Partners. Success in this role requires a blend of recruitment expertise, business development skills, and deep familiarity with the insurance industry.
What does the Broker Partnership Manager do?
- Source, assess, and engage prospective Sales Brokers to meet the talent needs of branches across Canada.
- Collaborate with branch leadership to understand local hiring requirements and provide tailored recruitment support.
- Lead candidate sourcing efforts through a variety of channels, including outreach, networking, referrals, and digital platforms.
- Build and maintain a strong candidate pipeline and nurture ongoing relationships with qualified brokers.
- Develop and refine candidate profiles and recruitment criteria in alignment with business needs and performance expectations.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including Talent Acquisition and Marketing, to coordinate recruitment campaigns and improve employer branding.
- Guide candidates and branch leaders through the recruitment process, ensuring a positive and professional experience for all stakeholders.
- Use recruitment systems and tracking tools to manage leads, monitor performance, and support continuous improvement.
- Ensure recruitment practices reflect BIG’s values and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Identify and assess prospective Broker Partners and Managing Partners to support ongoing franchise growth and succession planning.
- Lead end-to-end development activities for new branches, from prospecting to operational launch.
- Represent the organization during contract negotiations with prospective Managing Partners, acting as the primary liaison to ensure alignment with BIG’s standards and long-term success.
- Collaborate with legal, finance, and operational teams to finalize agreements that reflect both opportunity and risk considerations.
- Present business cases for new branch opportunities and support decisions with data-informed insights.
- Support onboarding and integration of new Managing Partners and Broker Partners, ensuring a smooth transition and setup.
- Conduct ongoing market research to identify emerging growth opportunities, informing strategic decisions about where and how to expand.
- Contribute to the development of best practices, tools, and metrics to enhance recruitment effectiveness and candidate quality.
- Represent BIG at events, industry functions, and other outreach opportunities to promote broker opportunities and enhance visibility.

Qualifications:
- University degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in franchise development, business development, or strategic partnerships, preferably within the insurance, financial services, or professional services sectors.
- Experience with contract negotiation and stakeholder management in a multi-stakeholder environment.
- Knowledge of the Canadian insurance brokerage industry.
- Proven track record of building successful business partnerships and leading growth initiatives.
- RIBO license (or other provincial insurance license) is an asset.
