As the Team Lead, Personal Lines, you’ll join the Welland Branch team in a full-time, fixed-term contract (18 months) role covering a maternity leave. In this leadership position, you’ll support a client-focused Personal Lines team while ensuring service excellence across auto, home, and travel insurance. This is an opportunity to step into a visible leadership role where you’ll make an immediate impact through coaching, problem-solving, and delivering exceptional client experiences.

What does the Team Lead, Personal Lines do?
As the Team Lead, you will guide a team of Account Managers dedicated to delivering exceptional service across auto, home, and travel insurance. You’ll be a trusted escalation point, a coach, and a culture-builder — ensuring that every client feels supported, every team member feels empowered, and every file is managed with accuracy and care. In this role, you will:
  • Lead and support the daily operations of the Personal Lines team, fostering a productive and collaborative environment.
  • Resolve client escalations promptly and professionally, protecting BIG’s reputation for exceptional service.
  • Oversee complex Personal Lines files that require deeper expertise and strategic problem-solving.
  • Train, mentor, and develop Account Managers to help them grow and succeed.
  • Ensure service quality, regulatory compliance, and internal standards are consistently met.
  • Collaborate with other departments to maintain seamless client experience.
  • Strengthen long-standing client relationships and proactively address evolving needs.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
  • Champion BIG’s values and contribute to a positive, supportive team culture.
  • Provide performance observations and feedback to the Manager, Personal Lines Service.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • RIBO license.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in insurance industry with a focus on Personal Lines (home, auto, travel).
  • Post secondary education in Business, Insurance, or related field (an asset).
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience (an asset).

What We Offer
  • Salary Band 5: $62,000–$79,000
  • Target Hiring Range $62,000 - $66,000*
