We are currently seeking an Account Assistant to join our Welland branch Personal Lines team on a fixed-term contract (12 months) to cover a maternity leave. In this role you will play a critical internal support role, helping ensure policies, documentation, and records are complete, compliant, and ready to support licensed brokers in delivering exceptional service. What does the Account Assistant do?
As an Account Assistant, you’ll support the Personal Lines service team by managing data, reviewing policy documentation, and ensuring client files meet internal and regulatory standards. Your work behind the scenes plays an important role in keeping accounts accurate, organized, and ready to support exceptional service. In this role, you will:
  • Keep client files and documentation organized, accurate, and up to date.
  • Review policy changes and new business submissions to ensure they align with underwriting guidelines.
  • Spot missing information or inconsistencies and flag them to the appropriate team members.
  • Step in to support the Team Lead, Account Assistant during absences, helping maintain smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Handle internal billing inquiries with care, accuracy, and clear communication.
  • Prepare documentation for internal reviews and team meetings.
  • Support compliance with the Insurance Act and internal policies and procedures.
  • Work confidently across internal systems and insurer portals to support daily workflows.
  • Stay current on process updates, regulatory changes, and industry best practices.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in office administration, preferably within a customer service or insurance environment.
  • Additional certification in office administration (an asset).

What We Offer
  • Salary Band 1: $41,000–$53,000
  • Target Hiring Range $41,000 - $45,000*
